This is an important question to ask right now. I mean everyone is saying and giving out advices on how something can be done, how you can reach this goal and that goal. How you can succeed or how you can manage your money better or even how you can be happy. There are also many ‘experts’ giving out their expert advices.
It even intensifies more when you read the stories of how other people became successful and found meaning and happiness or how their business was able to generate more income and scale up. I know this from my experiences. I would read a book that really inspired me and made me think that maybe this could be the way that I am meant to take as well. However, read enough and listen enough and you begin to realize that there are so many stories, and each story is different; so which do I take or follow?
The answer for this is ‘what works for you?’ Really, what is it that works for you? Let’s face it, what worked for another person is not guaranteed to work for you. And of course this can be attributed to diverse reasons. Amongst those could be that we are all unique individuals with different circumstances and abilities. So the most important question is, ‘what is it that works for you?’ You have to find that which works for you. And this could be a process wherein you have to first try out different ideas and approaches before you find the one for you.
Recently I have been looking at establishing different ways to connect with more people and share my thoughts and have them share theirs with me. Of course, I have been looking at other Social Media platforms such as Snapchat and YouTube and even doing podcasts. I came across different reasons why I should be on these platforms, but then I have to answer the question of what works for me? Would these platforms work for me? Take YouTube for instance, like many people I am still not that comfortable being in front of a camera.
How another person became successful may be great and inspirational, but would it work for me? DO my skills and abilities allow me to pursue that path or do things the way they did? Does that business strategy suit my business? Could I be able to successful implement it with my resources? These are important questions to answer.
Because after it all, if you are going to benefit from the knowledge and stories you just came across, you have to find what works for you.
